This policy explains what personal information KeepnTouch ("we", "us") collects, how we use it, and your choices. By using KeepnTouch you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
- Account information — your email address and authentication details.
- Location data — the GPS location of paired companion devices.
- Audio — short ambient audio recordings and live audio when requested by the account holder.
- Device information — battery level, connectivity and basic device status of paired devices.
- Payment information — handled by our payment provider, Stripe; we do not store full card details.
2. How we use it
We use this information solely to provide the service to the account holder: showing location, delivering audio check-ins, reporting device status, managing your subscription, and keeping the service secure and working.
3. Consent & lawful basis
You confirm you have the lawful right and any necessary consent to monitor each paired device. We process data to perform our contract with you and on the basis of that consent.
4. Where data is stored
Data is stored using Google Firebase / Google Cloud infrastructure. Payments are processed by Stripe. These providers act as our processors and may store data on servers outside your country.
5. Retention
- Location history: kept for 1 day on the free tier and up to 30 days on Premium, then deleted.
- Audio recordings on the free tier are deleted automatically within about 48 hours.
- Account data is kept until you delete your account.
6. Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers needed to run KeepnTouch (Google Firebase, Stripe) and where required by law.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures — including authentication, access rules, and short-lived audio links — to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe.
8. Your rights
You can access or update your email in settings, and delete your account (and its associated data) at any time. To exercise any other data rights, contact us.
9. Children
KeepnTouch is intended for use by adults. Where a paired device is used by a minor, the account holder confirms they are the parent or legal guardian and consent to the processing on the child's behalf.
10. Cookies
We use only essential cookies and local browser storage to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences (such as your cookie choice). We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
11. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above shows the latest version.
